I think it was a year ago that i got tagged with this. Tapi tekana aku boring. I might as well add 7 more to my ongoing list of ‘random facts about me, that the world should know’

1. I sleep with my contacts on.
2. I am fussy about my food.
3. I used to drink Coke every day back in high school.
4. I never drank the tap water in boarding school cause i thought they tasted of rusting pipes.
5. I never used the boarding house’s cutlery and plates and opted for plastic ones, cause i thought they were filthy.
6. I enjoyed Nat Choot’s company during my time in the boarding house because she’s one of the funniest girls i’ve ever met..and now she’s leaving melbourne for good 🙁
7. I love nandos.

So the other day i accompanied Natalie to Glenferrie to pay her last visit to the boarding house before she leaves town for good. Caught up with her at the Glenferrie Train Station.

Walked down glenferrie road and passed the two asian grocers that we used to go for our keropok, bubble tea , maggi asam laksa and teh pelangsing needs.

Indo Mart

They were two different indo asian grocers, both located right across the street from each other. yatah aku nda paham, all this while how they were able to make money. hahaha Nat’s theory rang true when she said; “aiya siti, people who are on that side of the road malas to cross so they go to that one, people on this side of the road would prefer going in to Laguna so no need to cross!!!”

Laguna’s the prominent asian grocery there i guess.

There are more shops now than they were 6 years ago. They even have a Starbucks!! Jealous ku. masa kami kesekulah dulu2 ada tampat bubble tea saja. hahaha. On the way to the boarding house we decided to stop by Samurai. This sushi place we used to go to every other day while boarding at MLC. When SITI is not at NANDOS, SITI is at Samurai. if Siti is not at Samurai she’s SLEEPING in her room!!!! hahaha.

I think i had my first meal on Glenferrie here with my cousin Kutirsometime in July 2001. Samurai’s famous for their California Rolls , Rice dishes and Green Tea milkshake. It’s been a few years since i had samurai and people were telling me how it wasn’t as good as it used to be. So i thought i’d give it a go for old time sakes!

Inside Samurai, i notice that they have changed the interior completely. It’s still small but they’ve fitted in new chairs and the walls have been painted a yucky red. It used to look very japanese and now it just looks like any other commercial japanese take out place.

I was pleased that the menu was still the same.

PLASTIK MASIH AH. NADA BUDGET KAH DURANG ANI.

and their Sushi still tasted the same!

and their Greeen tea milk shake is still the best green tea milk shake in this whole wide world.

we then continued our walk down to the boarding school. passed by nandos.

This used to be my second home. if you can’t find me in the house during dinner time, i’d usually be down the street at nandos having my half chicken combo. The boarding house food sucked at that time ok; hari hari spring rolls hari hari spring rolls.. putung spring jua tu. baik tah ku hari hari nandos. huhuhu.

At the boarding house we said Hi (or goodbye, rather) to Miss khoo, one of the boarding house’s headmistress. She’s incharge of the international students at MLC. SINGLE MASIH TU MISS KHOO AH. SIAPA MAU!?!? hahahahaha.

Then we made our way in to the kitchen.

What is Nat hiding!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

AFter nat said her goodbyes. we went home. I have a year to go before i leave melbourne selamanya *tsk*, next year’s my turn to say goodbye to the boarding school – for good.
